    Jiffy Lube Scam

    http://mfile.akamai.com/12924/wmv/vod.ibsys.com/2006/0503/9152183.200k.asx

I took my Dodge truck right up the street to the local Jiffy Boobs and they said they replaced my breaks and rotors and that ran me almost $400.00. I was getting everything prepped for Carmax, I even had it detailed so I can get the most value out of my truck. Later, when I sold my car to Carmax they told me the breaks only had 20 percent left on them. I still have the receipt. I never confronted them over it. I should find my receipt and get with Carmax and get their report on my old dodge and take them to that news guy or small claims.

This is why I want my own house with my own garage…. I can work on my car no problem… I’m savvy enough to work on my car and change the oil and do the break etc. I’ve rebuilt my 1969 for fairlane which had a 5.0 liter 302 cid engine in my car port… which you can’t do anymore.

This realy fucking pissed me off

I rarely go to the mechanics. I buy Japanese car for that reason alone, better reliability.

Is going to the dealership better? I know they are more expensive, but will they be more honest?

I remember about 10 or 15 years ago Sears auto service was caught cheating too.
Trust me. I know what I am doing.

a few years ago I had my car in to get my fluids flushed at jiffylube and they cracked some part of my transmission I guess and tried to conseal it with tape, I brought my car home, and the next day my garage floor was covered in transmission fluid. I know nothing about cars so I had my friend look at it, and thanks to him jiffylube bought me a new transmission (after they tried to weasle their way out of it). I dont trust mechanics.

It's not all mechanics that scam you, it just happens that Jiffy Lube employs people without certifications. One of my classmates worked at a Jiffy Lube and he was maybee 18. It could also be that they are paid on comission in which you should never trust anyone who is paid on comission because they dont care about you all they care about is a few extra bucks.

Dealerships and Mechanics that don't run their own shop usually do a pretty stand up job.
