gran turismo 5 update one year out damage modeling being considered

    http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/26/en...t-a-year-away/

reminds me of the bullshit they pulled with the ps2 release. GT3 was supposed to be out almost at release, but got pushed back and back and back.

I can't believe this day and age that damage modeling would be optional especially considering how "powerful" the ps3 is supposed to be (actually less then 360). If this shit gets done right i.e. GOOD AI (gt ai has always been shit) and damage modeling then say hello to psn... in a year.

    Constructive.

I wish they would deliver a quality product of delaying it forever to only make the cars prettier.

Im not a huge fan of racing sims, but i have been following the news of GT5. I must say that i am not surprised in the least that the game wont be out for a while. With prologue just about out people with half a brain would just be like "meh why spend 40$ on a DEMO version of the game when the full version will be out in a while?" Now that we know GT5 wont be out for another year people will think twice and probably spend the 40$ on the prologue.
I think its just a way for them to milk the most out of their cash cow tbh

yeah, i agree with sliv. they said in 4 that there would be dmg on cars. they also said that the ai was significantly better and that there may be online capabilities for it in the near future. well ya know what? they lied on every count. the ai was just about as fucking stupid as it was in gt1-3, there was still no fucking car dmg and well whaddayaknow NO ONLINE CAPABILITIES EVER.

although on their behalf i heard that alot of the car manufacturers said they didnt want to have dmg on their cars for some reason. but now with forza and how it has essentially paved the way they would be foolish not to include it.

The car damage in Forza was pretty lulz.
I'd rather have no damage than Forza damage any day.
I also didn't see any significant AI improvements over GT in Forza either. It's pretty much the same "We all follow the same line except when we crash into your car you get a time penalty and some whack non realistic damage model."

true dozer, but forza hasnt been promising to have DRASTICALLY IMPROVED ai for almost 5 years now.

It's going to own your face with it's more powerful hardware.

I'll be happy with Prologue for the next year.
