i dont get how gold is a better currency, its value is based on 2 facts, its perty and its rare. the only thing i find gold useful for is that it has better conductivity than copper or silver. so if the wealthy amass lots of gold, then it would make it much harder for the poor to cross into the upper or middle class. i dont have any references handy, but i believe much of americas economic boom was due to getting rid of the gold standard and creating the credit system we all know and love today.
i propose we go back to the barter system...
