    windaz seven

I'm pretty impressed. Its really fast, startup/shutdown. New GUI is good, new taskbar takes some getting used too but is vastly superior to earlier versions. Rock solid stable so far.

Only complaint is games run a fair bit slower. Losing around 20-30 fps in heavy action in TF2.

Ive been hearing it uses much less RAM when idle, and while doing most tasks then Vista currently does.
However your the first person to make any comment on its performance during gaming (my main selling factor).
On avg. would you say (for gaming) Windows 7 will be a large improvement over Vista?

I cant comment on the RAM issue, only computer in my house with vista only has 1GB. But 7 uses a tonne of memory just sitting there though. Like right now, 1.7gb. I assume this is all to do with the prefetching stuff.

Well I attribute frame rate loss to driver maturity, plus source engine may need to be optimized for 7 or something. Also I believe source is only 32bit, OS installed is 64, so doesnt that mean it runs in a 32 emulator or something?

Either way, I predict with some performance enhancements I could see this easily topping XP.

Also, only major issue so far is IE8 not being able to acess the internet.
