Exclamation Anyone Shot/Owned one of these?

Looking to pick up a new 9mm for home defense, occasional target shooting and a concealed etc. I know there are hardcore Sig fans/Glock fans etc but the mechanics are sig like and durability hasnt failed yet. I have read up a ton on the Springfield XD series, tried them etc but not a fan of all the safety features (ironic for home defense I know). I have decided on the FNP-9 Herstal and was wondering if anyone has shot one etc?

The video reviews I have seen are all for it over the XD:
    [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfymM5WbdH8&feature=channel"[/URL]

Let me know your thoughts if you have used it please. I love the style the size and the accuracy and specs.

"The FNP-9 autoloading pistol has a high-capacity polymer frame and is available with double-action/single-action (DA/SA) operation. It features a hammer-forged barrel for long life and exceptional accuracy. The stainless steel slide has a matte black industrial tool finish. The FNP-9 utilizes an ambidextrous frame-mounted decocker. The comfortable grip length and trigger reach deliver ergonomic comfort for most hand sizes. It also includes an underframe rail system for attaching tactical lights and lasers. Models with standard fixed or night sights are available. It comes complete with three magazines and a lockable hard case.

Model FNP-9, DA/SA, Matte Black Stainless
    Item Number 47828
    Caliber / Ga. 9mm
    Metric Designation 9x19mm NATO
    Magazine Capacity 16
    Barrel Length 4"
    Overall Length 7 3/8"
    Weight 25.2 oz.
    Operating Principle DA/SA
    Metal Finish Matte Black Stainless
Stock / Grip Interchangeable arched and flat backstrap insert"

For just over $500 with a case and 3 mags (each over $30 a piece) this is a sweet buy IMO.
    Comp Specs:
    Intel Core i7 920 Bloomfield 2.66 @ 4ghz
    EVGA E758 Mobo
    6 Gigs Corsair Dominator
    2x Sapphire Vapor X 5770 1GB GDDR5
    Corsair 1000 Modular PSU
    CORSAIR Cooling Hydro Series CWCH50
    2x 500GB WD HDD

Looks like a good choice. Seems like you did your research and know what you want.

I wouldn't dog the XD because of its safety features. When held properly, as if you were going to shoot it, they become a moot point. This can be argued in either direction; but in a high stress situation, last thing I'd want is a standard safety getting in the way of me firing.

In any case, that FNP-9 looks nice. I do like the SA/DA options.

I like my pistol to have no user-operated safety and be SA/DA. For me, this is a Sig.

That's what did attract me to this gun is because it is Sig like in a lot of ways and ambi since I shoot both ways and it's cheaper than a sig :D

For home defense you can't beat a Remington 870 or Benelli Nova.

Personally, I think a gun that conveys a stronger sense of intimidation, regardless of it's actual capability, is better for home defense.

As such I keep these bad boys in the house:

We`re all connected to each other biologically, to the Earth chemically, and the rest of Universe atomically.

    Exactly!

I have one Glock just to see how it operates. So far, I'm quite impressed. A little bit different than what I'm used to in a Sig (classic...I don't like the pro), but I wouldn't hesitate to carry either if I have to.
Trust me. I know what I am doing.
