Microsoft's courier tablet not to see the light of day

Microsoft never officially confirmed existence of the device, but if you were holding your breath for its delivery, you can resume your regularly scheduled respirations. Gizmodoís Thursday report of Courierís demise quotes Microsoft corporate vice president of communications Frank Shaw:

At any given time, weíre looking at new ideas, investigating, testing, incubating them. Itís in our DNA to develop new form factors and natural user interfaces to foster productivity and creativity. The Courier project is an example of this type of effort. It will be evaluated for use in future offerings, but we have no plans to build such a device at this time.

HP Slate has also been cancelled. 2 windows 7 tablets gone the way of the dodo before even making it to market. Lets hope this means MS will be reworking a tablet with windows mobile 7, and HP will wow us with WebOS crap.

there must be major features or specs that the ipad has that their devices don't...

plus those things won't make it without an app store...
