    Best home router?

I"m in the market for a new router. I currently have the D-link DIR-655 which I am going to give to my sister so her and her family have a router to use since theirs broke... which puts me in the market.

    Any recommendations?

I don't need NAS or network printing I can share the printer. I'm looking for the best performing router for 802.11 N with a well performing mixed mode if possible but wireless N is more important to me. With true dual band tech. a good range would be a plus also.

Any prices over 300$ would be out of the question. I have 3 pc's and 3 iphone 4's on our network 90% of the time if that matters.

    Thanks in advance!! :D

This is the one I was looking at.. http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/d-li...-32820169.html But I know there is better and I do not have to have a fancy display. lol

After about 15 minutes worth of research I bought this:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833122326

It sucks less then any other home router I have used yet, and I have used quite a few. They all suck balls... but this one doesn't quite suck as hard.
    Computer Specs:
    Intel Core i7 930 2.8 GHz @ 4.0GHz
    1. BCLK @ 200
    2. 1.33V

What cazter said. Most stable router+wap I've used in a LONG time.

I had that DIR-XXX crap and it BLEW. I wouldn't even give it away.

Thanks Caz, I researched for a good 30 min this morning and kept coming up with more d links or linksys. Not a fan of either tbh.

So all home routers are just horrible huh? I'll go ahead and grab that one you suggest Caz thanks!

The actual routing aspect is rarely a problem.

    Things that get me are:
    - The setup and management GUI always blows
    - The wireless fubars regularly
    - Low data throughput (wired and not)

This one is the best of all the suck out there.

So I am in the market for one of these as well...need to finally upgrade. Is this one still the best out there? The company will pay for it so anything less than $250 will work and I would like to get the most for my $$$. Thanks in advance x[clan] for the help...miss you guys. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833122326

I am not sure what everyone else thinks but after researching it for a couple hours I fell on the new Asus router

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Dual-Band+Wireless-AC+Gigabit+Router+with+4-Port+Ethernet+Switch/6639317.p?id=1218768193072&skuId=6639317&ref=06&lo c=01&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=6639317&extensionType= {adtype}:{network}&s_kwcid=PTC!pla!{keyword}!{matc htype}!{adwords_producttargetid}!{network}!{ifmobi le:M}!{creative}&kpid=6639317&k_clickid=1039b1b6-d36b-0da9-03cf-000079ddf119

Not sure you are getting the best bang for your buck, but it sure works well for me.
Good lord are there no good games to play?
