    New computer help

I'm thinking about getting a new rig. Any system recommendations? I was thinking about getting an intel i7 950 but don't know what motherboard to pair it up with. I was also looking at the i7 2600k as well but don't know what motherboard neither lol... any other suggestions on other parts will also be given some thought.

i have a 23 inch 1080p moonitor. I'm trying to figure out how much i need to spend to get a pretty nice rig without having to spend too much for all the top of the line stuff haha...

Well you're lucky you have a resolution where you can get the cheaper video cards. :) I'd have to research what's best for you. Anyone wanna help dragoooonboi out or what? ;p

If you're on a budget don't get a SSD even though they are going down in price, it's not even close to a necessity.

If you're getting the chip with a K in it which it sounds like you are then I would just find the best one for overclocking. Motherboards can be a lot or preference and depend on how many bells and whistles you want. I personally stay away from Deluxe boards if I can as they tend to be a lot more expensive while you're paying for a ton of features you may never use. I can help you find a good one, are you partial to any brands?

Depends on how much you want to spend on video. 6k series from AMD scale very well in xfire. Nvidia I'm not as sure about. 1 6970 would do you real good but they really shine at higher resolutions. And they are about 320$ a card.

i actually been looking at a couple of boards but i feel like i should wait until the end of the year to get a new rig... looks like there might be new deals coming out so maybe there will be a price drop somewhere =/ thanks for helping me though codered, i still have some things to consider before buying.
