EA: Dead Space needs to be "more broadly appealing", IPs like this need ~5 Mil copies
As stated earlier; a small IP becomes an unexpected success. For the sequel, they take the parts that are perceived to be 'awesome' and crank them up. They also try to dumb down the gameplay for a broader appeal.
Essentially they lose the idea of the original IP and you're left with another DudeBro ShottaBang.
The last series in the survival horror genre to fall this way was Resident Evil.
What the fuck does 'how deep the horror is' mean? We're going to be releasing more assets over the coming months that show you how deep the horror is. It's definitely not getting away from gore or horror, but at the same time it's opening up to a larger audience by adding some elements.
Does it mean more 'jack in the box' moments?
Does it mean more gore and murder porn?
Do they know what made DS1 scary?
