To Bled: Remember When We Were Talking about Dead Space 3 in Mumble the other Night

    Totally Vindicated:

EA: Dead Space needs to be "more broadly appealing", IPs like this need ~5 Mil copies

As stated earlier; a small IP becomes an unexpected success. For the sequel, they take the parts that are perceived to be 'awesome' and crank them up. They also try to dumb down the gameplay for a broader appeal.
Essentially they lose the idea of the original IP and you're left with another DudeBro ShottaBang.

The last series in the survival horror genre to fall this way was Resident Evil.

We're going to be releasing more assets over the coming months that show you how deep the horror is. It's definitely not getting away from gore or horror, but at the same time it's opening up to a larger audience by adding some elements.
What the fuck does 'how deep the horror is' mean?
Does it mean more 'jack in the box' moments?
Does it mean more gore and murder porn?
Do they know what made DS1 scary?

    FUCK

I thought it meant Important Person.

I like the Paradox games. Specifically Hearts of Iron (3), Europa Universalis, and Crusader Kings (2). These are not FPS or mmos, they are detailed historical simulation sand box games. A bit of a steep learning curve but rewarding mid-game play (end game can be anti-climatic as a good player dominates). They can also teach a bit of history, religion and geography. They take up some time, (you might not unpause from setup stage for 15+min as you gear your realm towards what you want to accomplish, but as things start moving along the detail and events start happening. Leading to an enjoyable experience. I feel better after playing a long paradox game than I do after months of WoW or days of Diablo. I also don' t get the adrenaline rush like playing Battlefield, but more a sense of accomplishment.

I agree i enjoyed the first game far better than the second. I just hope they don't destroy the franchise like they did with mass effect 3.
