How do you Block these Page Covering Pop-Ups

I use Ad-Block Plus with Firefox and it does a great job with EVERYTHING besides these damn page covering pop-ups.

You're all familiar with these things. They block the page and the only way to continue is to close the ad.

Is there a way to get rid of these things?

    Alright, giving it a go.
Are there any good lists to subscribe to?

noscript blocks scripts from running. I don't know about list to subscribe to. I block everything and if something I want to see is blocked I look at what is blocked and try to figure out which one will work. I admit it is a bit hit and miss, but it is educational about the practices of some web sites to allow a slurry of scripts to be running. A few I block all the time, like facebook, twitter, and ad sites I know I won't like. Some scripts then trigger further scripts. It is quite annoying to see where the web is heading, but businesses are eager to learn everything they can about web surfers.

Definitely doesn't work right out of the box, but I'm working with it. Works, but got to struggle with it at first.

Yeah, it's also pretty crazy to see 5 different scrips cascading through each other on a single site.
